KTM RC390 - SINDHULI - NEPAL'S GREATEST ROAD / PART 2
Heading from Sindhuli back to Kathmandu. Not having 1st gear was a bit annoying. But other than that this RC390 was bags of fun on this road.
Trying to make good time, but not going flat out. Lots of traffic and blind corners to deal with, so taking more of a defensive line rather than a racing line. You have to respect this road and although the RC390 isn't a powerful bike, it still has enough power to get you in all sorts of trouble on a road like this. Can't imagine how scary and awesome a superbike would be on this road!

KTM RC390 - SINDHULI - NEPAL'S GREATEST ROAD / PART 1

Got to use this 2017 RC390 for a few days. So I woke up early on a Saturday morning, left Kathmandu and headed for Sindhuli via the BP Highway to ride one of the greatest roads in Nepal. This road just keeps getting better the further along you go.
CF MOTO MT650 Review / Chinese bike, Nepalese roads, English rider

I've always been a little underwhelmed by most motorbikes i've seen coming out of China. But in recent years i've seen a lot of progress. CFMOTO have been making some interesting bikes of late, so it was great to get the oportunity to ride this 2016 mt650 to see just how far Chinese bike manufacturing has progressed. This isn't a professional review by any means, but thought it was worth gettin...
MADE IN NEPAL! GURKHA 125 CAFE RACER in Kathmandu
Переглядів 6 тис.5 років тому
The Gurkha 125 Cafe Racer is a 125cc bike built in Nepal about 2010. To date, it is the only motorcycle to ever be built in Nepal and there were only a handful of them made. Luckily, a friend of mine owns one of them and was kind enough to let me take this little piece of Nepalese automotive history out for the day. After negotiating the busy city streets of Kathmandu, I took the Gurkha to the ...

    Great to find a video of someone riding this bike properly❤ This is how I ride pretty much, although the video did make some of the riding look a little sketchy with hidden entrances and stuff. I will concede that it might just look that way on screen. Your visibility is likely much better in real life. Most of the reviews of this bike show more mature gentleman pottering around rather sedately. I've just done a deal on a 30k mile, 2010, for £2600. The guys done loads of stuff to it in the last year (dyno tune, wheels powder coated, fresh Road 6s, new chain and sprockets, brake pads, etc) From the pictures, which are many and detailed, the bike looks very well looked after. Haven't even seen it the flesh yet. I wonder, like many here, if there was something wrong with the suspension set up or tyres of this particular bike. I'll find out next week. My first ride in 4 years will be getting a train down to Newcastle and riding home 250 miles to Aberdeen the same day. Wish me luck.

    So you start a "review" by saying how much you hate the bike for being uncomfortable and many other things which you dislike. Of course one does not finish watching.

    I have one of these, get the suspension set up properly. Had issues with running wide on the throttle in bends and reluctance to turn in. Took me a while to sort it out, only after riding with full luggage and noticing how it felt much more stable realised i had everything cranked up too hard(to off set running wide). Softened it up back and front. Back end would wobble leaning hard so i turned the little screw in the rear shock ( cant remember what its called) until the wobble disappeared and now its not far off the cbr 600 i had previously.

    I have a 2014 Fat Bob and this review is accurate. It seems to love that 35-60mph range (though it can easily do more). It's a fun ride. I've taken it out for some 1-3 hour rides (with stops along the way) and it's aggressive, mean-looking, but subdued. Not too loud, not whisper quiet. The right amount of rumble and vibration (after all, what's a motorcycle SUPPOSED to feel like, anyway?). Great review. I've been kicking around the idea of taking it from Nashville to Destin but I think I might get saddle sore on a Dyna, as opposed to a proper Soft Tail. Thanks for your work!

    I keep thinking to sell my 2013 to get a Royal Enfield 350 J series Hunter. But I just can't bring myself to sell it. It is so much fun. You feel like your an F1 rider while going the speed limit. I am up there in years and I enjoy the suspension comfort and easy ergonomics. We have paltry few choices in the States when it come to bikes under 500cc in the UJM format. There either Adventure or smaller replica's of larger sport bikes. No torque really but when you spin it up it gains speed at a pretty amazing clip for a 250! Crazy smooth for what it is. I have thought of selling it 250 times at least. But what to replace it with? I think it is still fore sale in Asian markets where it was always popular so accessories still available for it. I got a cool fitted windscreen that matches the headlight nacelle from Italy. I never have taking it touring but I am thinking to give it a try. The gas mileage would be crazy good. Please somebody bring a back something like the CB 450 twin.

    The problem with the other reviewers is that they ride this bike like a standard cruiser. But, this bike is design like a street semi sport bike. It’s design to run it hard to maximize its potential. It’s a fun bike regardless what they say.

    Do you think if it had USD forks and progressive springs in the front, it would make it less wobbly, or do you think it's down to the overall weight of the bike? I've always had bandit 600s and found they can be quite twitchy in the corners, but with upgraded front springs, it seemed to make it better. I also accompanied that with a 30mm lift kit. Made it a lot nicer to ride.

    Coming late to this but I must say you nailed that review. Had Triumphs, a Norton, a Honda, a Yamaha, and countless Beemers over the years and of my current 7 bikes I ride the Harley the most. Yes, they slow you down ( not necessarily a bad thing) but somehow it just feels right. I ride at 50 on the Harley and it feels like 80, I ride at 90 on the Beemer and it feels like 40. I’m 66 now and I’ve just bought a Fatboy to replace the Dyna. Cheers mate. Greetings from an ex.pat in Putnam Valley NY

    The VFR750 is never a cheap shit old bike, my friend. And the panel most probably came off because you hadn't secured the fasteners properly.

    • @benniehitchcock
      @benniehitchcock Рік тому

      This bike cost about £600, had worn out brakes, dodgy paintwork, worn out suspension and worn bearings. The panel fell off because most of the lugs and fairings were cracked and broken. So this vfr specifically was literally a cheap shit old bike. I'm not criticising vfrs in general, only the one in this vid. I've owned 4 vfrs and this was by far the worst, so i wouldnt agree that a vfr750 can never be a cheap shit old bike, because clealry they can. However I currently own a vfr800fi which I paid £800 for that isn't a complete piece of shit and I've been running it for 4 years without issue. Can't bring myself to sell it as the vfr is just the perfect all rounder for me.

    • @benniehitchcock
      @benniehitchcock Рік тому

      The old 750s had lead based paint on the fairings, so getting an accurate paint match these days might be tricky. I doubt honda keep stock of these old panels anymore, but last time I checked I think a replacement side fairing panel from honda cost around £500. Nearly what I paid for the whole bike

    It's not so much as the bike that handles badly, it's more like poorly maintained roads tend to unsettle it in the corners. 😁
